The AWE Tuning Mustang MD-500-AWD Chassis Dynamometer
Given the all wheel drive nature of 75% of the performance vehicles for which we develop, having an AWD dyno on site is a necessity. And if you're gonna do it... do it big. Our Mustang Dyno sits within our 12,500 square foot headquarters, secured in a test cell that can be closed off to the rest of the facility. AWE Tuning's state-of-the-art testing environment is replete with everything from engineered exhaust evacuation systems to ensure pure air to the engine (for the most accurate results) to large screen monitors for easy and collaborative evaluation.
Data is pulled via a battery of laptops with logging capabilites, allowing the AWE Tuning team to monitor literally dozens of engine parameters right through the factory diagnostic ports. And to take it a step further, we've integrated multiple data aquisition channels to the AWE Dyno PC, including a MoTeC Wideband Air Fuel Meter and dual Omega Instruments temperature meters, as well as a boost signal. Rounding out the environment are several mobile anemometer-verified cooling fans to provide appropriate spot cooling to again ensure valid test results.
The AWE Dyno is a key member of the AWE Tuning Research and Development team, though AWE Tuning customers can also opt to have before and after dyno tests performed with installations of AWE Tuning performance upgrades.
