Using a combination of high performance OEM parts, beautifully designed solutions from A.W.E. Tuning, and cutting edge software from G.I.A.C., this turbo kit will surpass all expectations.

Please note that our Hardware Only kit does not include software. K04 specific software is required to safely run a K04 turbo on your vehicle. Please see our kit FAQ for details if you choose to purchase our K04 kit without G.I.A.C. software.

Our TSI K04 Kit recently propelled our in-house 09 GTI to victory in the Front Wheel Drive Street Class of the Redline Time Attack, besting some very stiff competition. The car performed flawlessly during the several hundred track practice and race miles in the hot summer heat.

The K04 turbocharger from the European market Audi S3 redefines the idea of what is possible from a bolt on K04. With some clever components that we designed and also manufacture in house, we've adapted this bruiser of a turbo to the Mk5/A3/TT 2.0T TSI engine with satisfying results:

  • 335 crank horsepower and 345 crank torque when using the stock airbox and intercooler
  • 342 crank horsepower and 349 crank torque when using the Audi S3 Intercooler and stock airbox
  • 350 crank horsepower and 360 crank torque with the Audi S3 Intercooler and a cold air intake

Our special adapter parts make installation extremely easy. This is the most straight forward way for you to gain a huge bump in power without breaking the bank.

Our included Diverter Valve Relocation Kit moves the diverter valve from its stock location to higher up in the engine bay near the turbo inlet pipe. This grants easier access to the DV for servicing and replacement. Our included Diverter Valve adapter housing also allows any OEM or properly designed aftermarket DV to be used, which is a further cost savings for you. We do recommend adding our upgraded DV to ensure long term reliability.

The Front Mounted Intercooler from the Audi S3 FMIC is a very efficient and economical way to better cool the intake charge vs stock. With some specially designed silicone hoses, we were able to adapt the S3 FMIC to the TSI engine.

Further, any properly designed cold air intake that works with the stock turbo will also work with our kit, saving you even more money if you already purchased a cold air intake.

The elegance and simplicity of this turbo kit's design is unmatched.

Working directly with GIAC for the software version of this turbo kit, as with all our turbo products, we were able to retain perfect drivability manners, as well as to develop robust programming that maintains all factory safeties and emissions monitoring. The responsiveness of the turbo is well suited to this front wheel drive platform. Power delivery is smooth, with no sense of extreme turbo lag or twitchiness. Factory fuel injectors and high pressure fuel pump are also retained.

Please note! Installation of G.I.A.C. software requires that you send your fuel injection ECU or bring your car to an authorized G.I.A.C. install center. Also, a properly designed performance turbo back exhaust is required for safe and optimal operation of this kit. All development work was done on multiple test cars fitted with our 2.5 inch turbo back exhaust system.

There is a $250 trade in discount for purchasers upgrading from G.I.A.C. stock turbo software.

This kit requires use of the included Diverter Valve Relocation kit. Vehicles not equipped with a factory noise pipe will require some additional parts for installation.

Please note that the above parts will work only on TSI engines. If you are interested in a K04 Turbo Upgrade for an FSI engine, please visit our 2.0T FSI K04 Turbo Upgrade website section. You can identify your vehicle as a FSI or TSI engine by the presence of an appropriate badge on the engine cover.

Note: We're now offering a hardware only version of our Mk5 K04 Turbo Kits. These kits bundle the proven hardware from our 2.0T K04 Kits but leave out the G.I.A.C. software for increased savings. Please be sure you select the proper kit when ordering.
